Indonesia is home to more than 1,300 ethnic groups, with 95% of them being native Indonesian ancestry. This makes the country among the most ethnically diverse ones in the world. One of the most known ethnic groups in Indonesia is Dayak, who lives in Kalimantan (Borneo) and still maintains their traditional way of life.
This particular tour will take you to spend the night with people in the Dayak Punan tribe, who live in the Borneo rainforest. These people still maintain their hunting and gathering ways and you get to do Dayak Punan’s daily activities while staying with them. Locals will take you to collect produce from the jungle and learn some survival knowledge that has been passed for generations. It’s a valuable experience that will stick with you for a lifetime.
Punan Batu is the last group in Kalimantan that applies the prehistoric human way of life, namely hunting and gathering in the jungle. They are among the first groups to inhabit the island of Borneo, they survive with little attention from the government and the wider community. But their living space in the forests of Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, is now increasingly limited.

Upon arrival at Berau airport, transfer by car to Tanjung Selor for about 4 hours, dinner en route at a local restaurant. You will spend the night at Tanjung Selor.

After breakfast, you’ll head to Sajau River by car, which takes approximately 3 hours. Then, we’ll cross the river on a motor canoe to Dayak Punan village. Upon arrival, you will participate in the locals’ daily activities, such as collecting forest products. You will spend the night at a local house.

Following a simple breakfast, you’ll get to learn some survival knowledge that has been passed for generations from locals. After that, we’ll return back to Tanjung Selor. You’ll spend the night in the city.

Breakfast at the hotel, free at your own leisure, where you can explore Tanjung Selor. Then, we’ll travel by car for about 4 hours to Berau. Lunch and dinner en route at local restaurants, overnight at a hotel.

Once you select a tour and agree upon the terms and conditions, you can book the package online. Please make sure that all booking information is correct before finalizing the booking. After making the payment, check your email to see the booking confirmation order (within 24 hours). Upon receiving the booking confirmation order, please do the following:
Check order details, including: dates, names, et cetera.
In case of discrepancy mail us with your Booking ID at support@kamtuuindonesia.com
*It is advised to make the booking at least 30 days before your arrival date for convenient travel arrangements.
Documentation
Several countries are exempt from the requirement to have a visa to enter Indonesian territory as a tourist.

Cancellation Policy & Charges
Customers must send a written notification by email (cancellation@kamtuuindonesia.com) if they wish to cancel their booking with Kamtuu Indonesia. Please note that the following policy applies to any booking:
For cancellations done 30+ days before departure, loss of deposit.
For cancellations done less than 30 days before departure, loss of the total tour cost.
Kamtuu Indonesia will not waive cancellation fees as a result of the following:
Force majeure.
Injury or sickness.
Delayed, rescheduled, or missed flights.
Any unexpected incidents at home.
Refund policy
If you wish to cancel your booking and get a refund, please contact cancellation@kamtuuindonesia.com.
All costs related to refund payment will be deducted from the refund amount.
