A tropical holiday sounds so delightful for many. This time, instead of heading to the well-visited Bali, we’ll move over to Sumatra — specifically to Jambi. Jambi is known for its Mount Kerinci, the tallest mountain in Sumatra. However, the province is located close to Berhala Island.
Berhala Island is the outermost island of Indonesia in the Malacca Strait. Its name comes from the name of former Jambi ruler, Datuk Paduko Berhala, whose tomb can be found on the island. The island itself is rich in bahar root forest and maybe some of the most vibrant in terms of coral reef collections. You can find various fish species living in these reefs. Meanwhile, the land area of Berhala Island is around 2.5 hectares. It has a mountainous landscape with dense forests. The beaches have white sand and are relatively pristine.
Highlights:
Exploring Berhala Island and seeing the sea turtles in their habitat.
Lounging at the white sand beach and inhaling the sea air.
Enjoying delicious barbecue dishes beside the sea with friends and family.

You will be picked up at night. We’ll take you to Nipah Panjang. It will be a quite long journey toward the fishing village.
No Meal
We will arrive at Nipah Panjang at dawn. We’ll wait until the tide rises before crossing to Berhala Island. You get the whole day to explore the beautiful island and its beaches. We’ll take you to Turtle Island to see sea turtles in their real habitat, too. At night, we’ll have a barbecue meal at the beach.
Breakfast Lunch Dinner
After breakfast, you get free time to explore the island. By mid-day, we’ll check-out from the homestay and travel back to Nipah Panjang. We’ll likely arrive at Jambi by night.
